About the job
You will be part of our Finance department located in Aalborg, Denmark, working closely with colleagues across our global organization. Blue Power Partners consists of four business units and multiple legal entities worldwide, and more than 300 employees.
This is a combined accounting and operational controlling role, where you are responsible for both day-to-day Accounts Payable activities and follow-up on the related accounting balances. You will work hands-on with the invoice flow and payments, while also ensuring that Accounts Payable balances, accruals, and related accounts are correct, reconciled, and ready for reporting.
As we continue to scale, your role is key in ensuring accurate and consistent financial data, working closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider organization.
You will join a social and collaborative Finance team that works closely together and takes pride in delivering reliable, service‑minded support to the organization.
Key responsibilities
Accounts Payable & daily accounting
- Handle end-to-end supplier invoice processing across multiple entities
- Register invoices in line with internal policies
- Ensure correct VAT registration and declaration to the government
- Maintain and validate vendor master data
- Follow up on invoice approvals and resolve discrepancies with the business units
- Manage payment runs and ensure timely and accurate execution
- Review and book employee expense reports
Reconciliations, accruals & controlling
- Reconcile Accounts Payable statements and resolve any outstanding items
- Reconcile balance sheet on a monthly basis to ensure reliable reporting
- Prepare and post accruals for missing vendor invoices
- Follow up on open items, deviations, and unexplained balance movements
- Ensure that entries, payments, and balances are aligned and properly documented
- Contribute actively to the month-end closing and readiness for reporting
- Act as a sparring partner to colleagues in Finance regarding process, systems, and balance movements
About you
We are looking for an experienced accounting and controlling professional who is comfortable combining hands on Accounts Payable work and taking ownership of balance sheet reconciliations. You take pride in accuracy and understanding what sits behind the numbers. You understand that high-quality reporting starts with correct entries and well-reconciled balances.
You enjoy bringing clarity to processes, identifying inconsistencies, and ensuring that financial workflows run smoothly – especially in a dynamic and global setting.
You like working close to the operations, take responsibility for your area, and prefer practical solutions over complex theory.
Your qualifications
- A background in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or similar
- Solid experience with Accounts Payable and general accounting tasks
- Experience with reconciliations, accruals, and month-end closing activities
- Good understanding of how entries and reconciliations impact financial reporting
- Experience working with an ERP system (ideally across multiple entities)
- Structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently
- Enjoy working with processes and contributing to continuous improvements
- Fluent in Danish and English, written and spoken
