We are expanding our development activities in Romania and therefore, we are looking for an experienced and talented Environmental, Permitting and Land Specialist to engage in our Onshore Team, which is engaged in the development and construction of onshore wind, solar, storage and PtX projects worldwide.

About the job

The EPL Specialist will be responsible for the representation of the company standards and working with stakeholders and contractors to ensure the end result is delivered to the highest quality and environmental standards. The EPL Specialist pro-actively reports on progress, risks, any contractual claim situations, quality and environmental impact. Responsibility for the leadership, supervision, coordination and execution of the onshore wind farm construction in terms of Environmental and Permitting compliance and Land, as well as for the achievement of the schedule, and environmental quality objectives, in close cooperation with the Construction Manager.
Your accountabilities are likely to vary, but your main tasks may include:
- Define, monitor, document and report the compliance with land lease contracts, permits resolutions and the Environmental and Social Monitoring Plan (ESMP).
- Manage, coordinate and optimize the interface between stakeholders and the project team.
- Interface with client, government regulators, other contractors and representatives. I.e. Visit client offices, attend regulatory agency meetings, attend public hearings, participate in field visits based on project requirements.
- Management of landowners’ complaints and/or requests including communication, evaluation, tracking, and generation of reports on land status.
- Inform relevant stakeholders on EPL project progress, risks, and at the same time supervise contractor work with respect to environmental, permitting compliance, and social perspective in close cooperation with the Construction Manager.
- Prepare client overviews of development / construction status including risk investment.
- Provide support to ongoing and new development projects focused on, but not limited to, permitting and regulatory needs.

You are eager to provide high-quality deliverables and must have excellent interpersonal skills and a strong ability to communicate and navigate in a knowledge domain between technical and commercial topics.
We value the right match of personal and professional skills and would prefer you to enrich our business with the following proven experience and skills:
- Local knowledge of the area.
- Possess relevant education such as bachelor’s degree in or forestry/agricultural engineering, environmental studies or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience – preferably from the construction of energy projects.
- Experience in interfacing with national and local authorities, municipalities and agencies.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and submitting compliance reports for environmental authorization, local planning, etc.
- Solid understanding of legal wording applied to land lease agreements. Expertise in analyzing and interpreting prevailing regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact across multiple business units and stakeholders.
- Successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines.
- Highly proficient English skills – written and verbal.
- Knowledge of GIS tools.
