Meet Gianluca Di Conza, one of our Senior Electrical Engineers, and learn more about what it means to be part of a company focused on accelerating the green transition.
As a Senior Engineer, Gianluca sought a new place to continue building on his career experience. He was already working in the renewable energy sector at the time, so finding another company dedicated to new solutions was crucial for him.
“I was already heavily focused on sustainable solutions and quite passionate about the change from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. So, when I found BPP, it was clear to me that this is a company not only dedicated to the green transition, but also a company that believes that it can be done faster and smarter. This, combined with their global presence, perfectly aligned with my personal view, so it was natural for me to apply for a position.”
Finding the right place to continue your career can sometimes be a challenge in today’s job market; therefore, it was essential to Gianluca to find a workplace that not only aligned with his interest but also a company with the correct values, as he explains what he thinks make BPP stand out in the market:
“The entrepreneurial mindset, can-do attitude, and the idea of considering challenges as exciting opportunities for me are fundamental. In this regard, the magnitude and significance of the projects we are involved make us a reference point. Furthermore, there is a perfect balance between work and family time that creates a healthy work environment.”
When starting at Blue Power Partners, it was quite easy for Gianluca to find his sense of direction, as the onboarding process gave him excellent support and helped him familiarize himself with the global workings of BPP. It was also clear to him how BPP aligned with his personal aspirations:
“Since the initials chats the company path is presented to you, it is easy to understand the role the company expects from the employees and what you expect from them. It was also nice to see a company that allows you to challenge yourself as much as you are willing to while always supporting you. It is inspiring to receive opportunities to shine and feel the support of the team leads in this regard. This shows that BPP is a company that puts great trust in their employees.”
Having been with us at Blue Power Partners since 2022, Gianluca has already made essential contributions to some of our major projects. One specific project that highlighted the culture he was seeking when he applied to be part of BPP was a large-scale renewable project in Canada:
“With limited time to prepare the bid, the project team worked hard and shoulder-to-shoulder to prepare the documentation for the desired date. Each team member collaborated with their own scope and was available to help the rest of the team deliver it on time. It was a great experience, considering that the whole team is spread worldwide.”
Looking towards the future of renewable energy, Gianluca is hoping for a higher political and industrial alignment within the sector, as he believes it is needed to continue accelerating the green transition while also making it more efficient. However, he believes that he is in the right place to help push for new sustainable solutions:
“I believe that with BPP, I am already playing my role, contributing to delivering green energy and accelerating the transition towards it. I am also very proud to be part of the Catalina Project, a pioneering project at a global level aimed at the production of hydrogen and green ammonia using solar and wind power aimed at decarbonizing industrial processes and promoting sustainable energy.”
