Katelyn DeAnthony’s journey with BPP began as a junior, eventually leading her to a full-time position as an Environmental, Permitting, and Land Analyst with our EPL team in the Aalborg office. From her first encounter with BPP in 2023 to where she is now, Katelyn’s career has been growing, filled with new learning experiences and exciting challenges.
A Passion for Renewable Energy
It all started when she visited the BPP stand during a career fair, drawn by her passion for renewable energy and a desire to gain real-world experience in the field. Just one week after their first meeting at the fair, Katelyn was at an interview, which led to a positive outcome:
“I aspired to gain experience while pursuing a career in a field I had long been passionate about. The BPP representatives were welcoming and engaging at the fair, sparking a conversation that excited me about the company and its mission.”
A Transformative Internship with a Supportive Team Culture
Soon after, Katelyn was welcomed into the BPP family as a junior, a role that provided her with valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to grow. With support from her manager, she was able to further develop her skills by undertaking her internship at BPP, an experience she describes as transformative.
“My internship at BPP was a major learning curve. I had the chance to work on a new project, focusing on permitting processes and environmental aspects. It was much more about analyzing laws and regulations, which pushed me out of my comfort zone. Coming from an engineering background, I was used to working with numbers and structured tasks. This project, however, was more creative and non-quantitative. It was a challenge, but my teammates were incredible. They regularly checked in, offering support and teaching me what I needed to know. Their guidance made all the difference, and I came away from the experience with new skills and a deeper understanding of complex projects.”
This led to a realization that her colleagues weren’t just teammates but a community where she could exchange knowledge and draw on feedback. She appreciates the collaborative and supportive culture at BPP, where the hierarchy is flat, and communication is open:
“The company culture at BPP is one of the best parts of working here. It’s relaxed and informal, without a strict hierarchy, which creates a friendly and approachable environment. This kind of atmosphere makes it easy to be productive, as everyone is willing to help and collaborate.”
Learning and Growing by Embracing New Challenges
But it’s not just the company culture that keeps Katelyn engaged – It is so much more than that! She finds motivation in the variety and dynamic nature of her work, which ensures there’s always something new to learn.
“No days look the same, and that’s what I love most about my job. Some days are quieter, while others are packed, and I can move from organizing permits and creating timelines and roadmaps to working on entirely new projects from scratch. The work is diverse, collaborative, and exciting. Not two days are the same, which makes each one an opportunity to learn and grow.”
In the renewable energy industry, Katelyn sees boundless opportunities and is eager to see where her journey leads. Committed to continuous growth, she is excited to deepen her involvement and embrace new responsibilities as she moves forward.
Katelyn’s journey at Blue Power Partners marks BPP’s dedication to developing its employees, fostering a supportive environment, and offering opportunities to work on projects that have a real impact on the green transition. Katelyn is just one of the many people who are helping drive BPP’s vision forward.
